Job summary

Newport News Shipbuilding, a division of HII, is seeking a Project Management/Engineering leadership role within the O49 Facility Program Management Office. You will lead shipbuilding teams and value streams to define project goals, articulate requirements, and guide the design basis and delivery process for complex naval projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• 9 years of relevant exempt experience.
• Master's Degree with 7 years of relevant professional experience.
• Ph.D. with 4 years of experience.
• Strong project management, systems engineering, and communication skills.
• Familiarity with requirements management, configuration management, and risk management.

Responsibilities

• Lead shipbuilding teams and Facilities Value Streams in defining project goals and requirements.
• Create documents that articulate goals and serve as the basis of design for projects.
• Guide the project delivery process and ensure best industry practices in consultant/constructor selection.
• Administer conceptual design and estimation efforts via specialized consultants.
• Monitor and review design documents for compliance with goals and requirements.
