Job summary

Newport News Shipbuilding, a division of HII, seeks a program management professional to oversee project execution and coordinate between program office, engineering, planning and operations. You will monitor budgets, schedules, and progress while guiding cross-functional teams on complex naval programs.

The role requires a ABET-accredited engineering bachelor’s degree (or a Master’s with 4 years of experience), US citizenship, and 25–50% travel. Final clearance is required to start.

Qualifications

  • US Citizenship required for this position
  • Bachelor's degree in ABET-accredited engineering program
  • 6 years of progressive technical experience in research, engineering and design or 4 years with a Master's degree

Responsibilities

  • Oversees and manages operational aspects of ongoing projects; liaises between program office, engineering, planning, project team, and operations management.
  • Reviews project status and budgets; manages schedules and prepares status reports.
  • Develops mechanisms to monitor progress and enable intervention and problem solving with project managers and stakeholders.
  • Oversees technical training, onboarding, knowledge sharing, and project management activities for staff and interns.
