Job summary

HII Newport News Shipbuilding is seeking a technical publications professional to write, edit, and maintain manuals and specifications for monitoring and control systems aboard FORD class ships. You will collaborate with product developers and engineers to ensure accuracy and clarity of technical documents.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree plus 6 years of relevant exempt experience, or
• Master’s Degree plus 4 years of relevant professional experience

Responsibilities

• Writes, rewrites and/or edits technical documents such as manuals, procedures, service manuals, and specifications.
• Gathers subject knowledge by interviewing product developers and observing production methods.
• Performs quality review of materials and maintains technical publications for monitoring and control systems aboard FORD class ships.
• Collaborates with product developers and engineers across departments during status meetings.
• Prepares and/or peer reviews letters, memos and process guides.
