Job summary

GreenXT is seeking a Senior Ballast Water & Damage Control Systems Engineer to support our Navy customer in Philadelphia, PA. The role focuses on BWTS, ballast/deballast, and related HM&E systems aboard ships.

You will lead lifecycle management, system assessments, and documentation, collaborating with government and industry teams to ensure system reliability and fleet readiness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related field.
• 10+ years of experience with shipboard mechanical, fluid, environmental, or auxiliary systems.
• Experience with ballast/deballast, damage control, pumps, valves, piping, or HM&E equipment.
• Ability to review engineering drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to travel.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering and technical support for shipboard BWTS and ballast/deballast systems.
• Support lifecycle management of ship alterations, modernization, and SCDs.
• Conduct ship checks to develop installation drawings and review technical documentation.
• Perform ISEA assessments of HM&E systems aboard amphibious ships; support testing and fleet training.
• Develop and review technical reports, specifications, drawings, test procedures, and change documentation.
• Support system modernization, installation, testing, and lifecycle sustainment.
• Develop and maintain technical manuals, maintenance procedures, and logistics documents.
• Participate in design reviews, technical meetings, and IPTs.
• Coordinate with government, shipyard, and contractor personnel to resolve issues.
