Ohio Department of Natural Resources is seeking a Natural Resources Engineer 4 to lead AML project design efforts in the Division of Mineral Resources Management. The role is based in Columbus with multiple Ohio locations offered, and involves overseeing consultants, designing critical projects, and ensuring compliance with contracts.

The position requires professional-engineer licensure and 2+ years of related experience, plus strong project management and code-enforcement skills.

Qualificações

• Certificate of registration as professional engineer issued by State Licensing Board.
• 2 yrs. exp. as registered professional engineer of which 12 mos. was as Natural Resources Engineer 3, 85743 or 12 mos. equivalent related engineering experience.

Responsabilidades

• Act as lead engineer and/or supervise assigned engineer on Abandoned Mine Land (AML) project design.
• Take lead role in selection of consultants to provide professional design services.
• Develop scope of work and assist in negotiating consultant contracts.
• Oversee consultant work in accordance with contracts.
• Review reports, plans, specifications and cost estimates developed by consultants and assist with contractor bidding process on in-house and consultant developed projects (e.g., review of contractors’ bids and recommendation of award).
• Manage AML Emergency Engineering Program including investigation, design, & construction oversight.
• Provide technical assistance and guidance to various Division programs and lower lever engineers, administrative personnel, consultants, contractors, landowners, and public officials and other interested parties.
