Job summary

The Ohio Department of Natural Resources seeks a qualified Natural Resources Engineer 3 to supervise junior engineers and technicians, review sealed plan sets and bid documents, and provide technical support for AML projects.

Responsibilities include developing engineering procedures, acting as project manager, and coordinating with multiple offices. Starting pay is $40.40/hr with planned increases to $57.67/hr, plus possible COLA and longevity pay after five years of state service.

Qualifications

  • Professional engineer license issued by the State Licensing Board.
  • 12 months of experience as Natural Resources Engineer 2 or 12 months equivalent related engineering experience.

  • Assist with development and implementation of engineering procedures/policies.
  • Act as a project manager for assigned projects.
  • Starting hourly pay of $40.40/hr with multiple pay increases over your first 6.5 years of service, with an end salary of $57.67/hr.
  • There may also be cost of living adjustments (COLA) applied. Longevity pay supplements begin after five (5) years of state service. For more details, refer to Pay Rate and Longevity Tables | Department of Administrative Services.

Certificate of registration as professional engineer issued by State Licensing Board AND 12 mos. exp. as Natural Resources Engineer 2, 85742 or 12 mos. equivalent related engineering experience.
  • Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above may be substituted for the experience required, but not for the mandated licensure.
