Citi in Houston, TX is seeking a NAM Head of Commodities Valuation Control Group to lead valuation oversight for the commodities business. This senior role drives strategy, governance, and rigorous controls across valuation methodologies and risk management.

You will mentor analysts, influence front-office partners, and ensure compliance with applicable regulations while maintaining the highest standards of integrity and transparency in valuation practices.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in Valuation Control, Market Risk Management, or related quantitative finance.
• Strong understanding of financial modeling, pricing theory, and risk management techniques.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or Engineering.
• Clear, concise written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and quantitative abilities.
• Leadership with independence and sound judgment.
• Adept at building relationships with senior partners and control functions.
• Strong commitment to ethics and a robust control mindset.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the directional strategy of the global Valuation Control function and anticipate market trends.
• Provide thought leadership on valuation issues, market practices, and industry standards.
• Lead and mentor valuation analysts, fostering excellence and continuous improvement.
• Negotiate with senior stakeholders across front office, risk management, and finance.
• Oversee end-to-end valuation control for NAM Commodities to ensure accuracy of financial statements.
• Develop innovative solutions for complex valuation issues and challenge trading desk marks.
• Apply mastery of product valuation to review models and methodologies independently.
• Ensure robust price verification and justified valuation adjustments.
