A leading global investment bank is seeking a Vice President to join its Global Markets Valuation Control team, supporting the Foreign Exchange (FX) and Commodities businesses.

About the Role

This role is responsible for ensuring the independent valuation, price verification, and prudent valuation of a diverse portfolio of FX and commodities products while maintaining a robust valuation governance framework.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the independent valuation review and price verification (IPV) process across Foreign Exchange and Commodities trading businesses.
  • Perform valuation analysis on:
  • FX Spot, Forwards, Swaps
  • FX Options (Vanilla and Exotic)
  • Base Metals
  • Agricultural Commodities
  • Commodity Options and Structured Transactions
  • Analyze valuation differences between Front Office marks and independent market data sources.
  • Review valuation adjustments including:
  • Bid/Offer Reserves
  • Liquidity Adjustments
  • Concentration Adjustments
  • Credit and Funding Valuation Adjustments where applicable
  • Produce daily, monthly, and quarter-end valuation reporting for senior management.
  • Present valuation issues and reserve recommendations to Valuation Committees.
  • Partner with Trading to investigate significant market moves, pricing discrepancies, and model impacts.
  • Challenge trader marks using independent pricing methodologies and observable market data.
  • Review valuation methodologies for new products and evolving market structures.
  • Support implementation of prudent valuation requirements under applicable regulatory frameworks.
  • Coordinate valuation governance with Product Control, Market Risk, Model Validation, and Internal Audit.
  • Prepare documentation supporting external audits and regulatory examinations.
  • Drive automation initiatives utilizing Python, SQL, and data visualization tools to enhance valuation analytics and reporting.
  • Identify opportunities to improve valuation controls, workflow efficiency, and data quality.
