Job summary

Louis Allis, a leader in custom-engineered AC and DC electric motors, seeks a CAD/Designer to join our engineering team in Warrior, AL. You will design, layout, and document custom motors and components for demanding applications.

You'll create detailed 2D/3D models, produce manufacturing drawings and BOMs, and collaborate with engineers, production, and shop personnel to ensure designs meet capabilities. Strong CAD skills and attention to detail are essential.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or technical certification in CAD, Drafting, Mechanical Design, or related field.
• 3+ years of mechanical drafting or CAD design experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar).
• Ability to read engineering drawings and technical documents.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong documentation skills.
• Effective communication in a fast-paced, project-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Create detailed 2D and 3D models to support motor designs and modifications.
• Produce accurate manufacturing drawings, assembly layouts, and BOMs.
• Update and maintain engineering documentation and revision histories.
• Collaborate with engineers, production teams, and shop personnel.
• Translate concepts into manufacturable drawings.
• Participate in design reviews and improve design standards.
• Assist with customer-specific documentation and data packages.
• Support special projects as assigned.
