University of Houston Musik Department seeks an experienced administrator to oversee the department’s administrative, financial, budgetary, and human resources operations. The role includes managing grants, service centers and institutes, ensuring compliance with internal and state/federal regulations, and supervising staff.

The position requires a minimum of five years of directly job-related experience; a four-year degree or equivalent training is preferred, with education/experience

Qualificações

• Minimum of five (5) years of directly job-related experience.
• Education will be considered in lieu of experience.
• Requires a 4-year degree from a college or university or equivalent in-depth training.
• All positions at UH-System are security sensitive and will require a criminal history check.

Responsabilidades

• Manages and oversees the department's administrative, financial, budgetary, and human resources operations.
• Oversees administration and operations of research grants, service centers and institutes for the department.
• Reviews and approves reconciliation of accounting records; prepares financial and budget reports.
• Ensures compliance with UH internal audit requirements, policies and procedures, and State of Texas and federal rules.
• Responsible for all administrative and financial affairs including personnel, procurement, travel documentation, accounts payable/receivable and general accounting issues.
• Provides supervision of departmental staff, defines duties, develops performance plans, conducts reviews, and enforces safety rules.
• Serves as liaison for the chair, faculty and staff with other university departments and offices.
• Facilitates regular staff meetings to share information and train staff on current practices and procedures.
• Performs other job-related duties as required.
