Job summary

Airswift is partnering with a well-established Houston-based civil engineering firm to identify a SME level Project Engineer. This is a growth-oriented opportunity for a civil engineer seeking to build strong technical depth and a long-term career in municipal infrastructure.

The Project Engineer will support municipal public works projects across the full lifecycle, from design development through construction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
• 3–15 years of experience in municipal public works or similar.
• FE/EIT certification preferred, or active progress toward PE licensure.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative team environment.

Responsibilities

• Support the design and delivery of municipal public works projects.
• Prepare engineering plans, calculations, and technical documentation.
• Assist with construction support activities, including RFIs, submittals, and field coordination.
• Collaborate with internal teams, municipal clients, and external stakeholders.
• Support multiple projects across different infrastructure types and departments.
• Build technical expertise and progressively take on greater responsibility.
