Job summary

OHM Advisors, the Community Advancement firm, is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to lead design and execution of municipal infrastructure projects in Northern Indiana, including Fort Wayne.

You will guide project teams, ensure regulatory compliance, mentor junior staff, and deliver high-quality water, wastewater, stormwater, and roadway solutions across the Chesterton and Fort Wayne offices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Professional Engineer license in Indiana.
• 5+ years in municipal engineering, with focus on roads, utilities, stormwater, and public works.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation; plus HEC-RAS/StormCAD/SewerCAD is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of local/state/federal regulations for municipal design and construction.
• Experience with project management including budgets, schedules, and risk.
• Ability to mentor junior engineers and support team development.
• Excellent communication and client interaction skills.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
• Capable of handling multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage municipal engineering projects within budget and schedule.
• Coordinate design, development, and construction of municipal infrastructure.
• Provide technical guidance and review designs, calculations, and docs.
• Manage project scopes, schedules, budgets, and deliverables.
• Collaborate with clients, contractors, sub-consultants, and stakeholders.
• Perform site assessments, inspections, and quality control during construction.
• Prepare technical reports, memos for regulatory approvals and delivery.
• Assist in proposals, cost estimates, and project plans.
• Conduct alternatives analysis, value engineering, and design optimization.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and regulatory changes.
