Job summary

PFM is seeking an experienced Senior Managing Consultant for its municipal advisory practice focused on Texas clients. The role may be based in Austin or Dallas with a hybrid work arrangement and requires travel as needed.

Ideal candidate has 5+ years in public sector finance, advisory services, and/or underwriting with MSRB Series 50 certification or ability to obtain within 60 days. Strong modeling, leadership, and client-management skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Authorization to work in the U.S. for any employer without sponsorship now, or in the future.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• At least 5 years of work experience in public sector/municipal finance, banking, trust or financial services.
• Knowledge of and contacts within state and local governments and the sector focus.
• MSRB Series 50 certification or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire.
• Familiarity with complex financial modeling and analysis.
• Strong quantitative, problem solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent writing skills and effective communication.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and expand relationships with clients in state/local governments and public utilities.
• Attend trade shows and conferences.
• Gather information to submit proposals.
• Serve as primary/secondary client contact for questions.
• Develop and implement a marketing plan to bring in new business.
• Develop financial solutions and analyze options for financing needs.
• Coordinate client deliverables and financing transactions.
• Manage financing teams and ensure timely performance.
• Present financial analyses and materials to clients in meetings.
• Mentor and train financial analysts and staff.
• Collaborate across internal and external teams for long-term growth.
