Job summary

Public Financial Management Inc. seeks an experienced Senior Managing Consultant for our municipal advisory practice, primarily serving clients in Texas with a hybrid work setup in Austin or Dallas.

The role requires seasoned expertise in public sector finance, strong client management, and the ability to guide multi-disciplinary teams. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years in municipal finance or related fields, MSRB Series 50 or ability to obtain, and excellence in financial modeling,

Qualifications

• Authorization to work in the U.S. for any employer without sponsorship now, or in the future.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• At least 5 years of work experience, preferably in public sector/municipal finance, banking, trust or financial services, with growing responsibility.
• Knowledge of and contacts within state and local governments as well as the sector of focus.
• MSRB Series 50 certification or able to obtain within 60 days of hire.
• Familiarity with transactions including complex financial modeling and analysis.
• Strong quantitative, problem solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent writing skills and effective personal communication skills.
• Advanced proficiency with MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and expand relationships with clients in state government, local government, transportation agencies and utilities.
• Attend trade shows and conferences.
• Gather information to submit and complete proposals.
• Act as primary or secondary client contact for questions.
• Develop and implement a marketing plan to bring in new business.
• Develop a full range of financial solutions and perform quantitative analysis to meet client needs.
• Generate and coordinate client deliverables, including financing transactions.
• Manage financing teams and ensure timely performance by staff.
• Present financial analysis and reports to clients at meetings.
• Mentor and train financial analysts and associates.
• Collaborate across internal and external teams to support long-term growth.
