Job summary

WSB, a design and consulting firm, seeks a Director of Municipal Services in Texas to provide strategic and operational leadership. You will oversee multidisciplinary teams, manage budgets, and align resources with project and business development goals while serving municipal clients and regulatory agencies.

You will lead complex programs, drive delivery excellence, and mentor staff, with on-site collaboration and a focus on risk, cost, schedule, and quality in a dynamic growth environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering required.
• Professional engineer licensure (PE) required or ability to obtain within six months.
• 8+ years municipal engineering experience.
• Experience with City of Austin preferred.
• Experience managing multi-disciplinary projects and client relationships in Central Texas.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of mid-level leaders, first-level leaders, and contributors.
• Scale regional operations and client services.
• Translate growth strategy into team goals and annual plans.
• Secure resources and budget for the team.
• Oversee financial performance and revenue targets.
• Coach and mentor staff; manage performance reviews.
• Plan workforce and hiring for the assigned group.
• Manage multi-discipline projects from proposal to closeout.
• Deliver CIP programs and projects on-site with municipal staff.
• Establish and maintain relationships with municipal clients.
• Develop project budgets and monitor expenditures.
• Identify risks and mitigation strategies.
• Oversee contract negotiations and compliance.
• Understand funding sources for municipal projects.
