Job summary

T&M Associates is seeking a Supervising Engineer to lead the Municipal Department in our Bloomfield, NJ offices, guiding a team of engineers and managing a portfolio of capital improvement projects across municipal sectors.

This hybrid role combines remote work with in-office collaboration. The ideal candidate has extensive municipal engineering experience, strong leadership skills, and the ability to handle both technical and client-facing aspects of projects.

Qualifications

• B.S in Civil Engineering required.
• 10+ years in Civil Engineering, including project management for design and construction.
• PE license required; PP license a plus.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Experience reviewing Land Use Board applications and attending night meetings.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of municipal engineers.
• Oversee preparation of engineering documents for municipal projects (plans, specs, cost estimates).
• Manage multiple high-priority projects, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery; be primary client contact.
• Conduct or oversee field inspections of infrastructure for compliance with standards and regulations.
• Review site plans, zoning applications, and subdivisions with detailed reports and recommendations.
• Cultivate strong relationships with municipal clients and regulatory bodies.
