Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Municipal Engineer to lead impactful infrastructure projects in Illinois. The role offers hybrid work flexibility with in-office days or fully remote options depending on location, along with a strong compensation package and performance bonus eligibility.

The successful candidate will bring 10-15+ years of municipal/civil experience, a PE license, and proven ability to mentor staff while expanding the firm’s Illinois footprint.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required or ability to obtain through reciprocity.
• 10-15+ years of municipal, civil, transportation, or infrastructure engineering experience.
• Experience managing municipal utility, roadway, drainage, and site development projects.
• Strong project management and client relationship skills.
• Proficiency with Civil 3D, OpenRoads Designer, Bentley CONNECT, or similar design platforms.
• Knowledge of stormwater management, utility coordination, roadway design, and permitting.
• Ability to mentor junior engineers and contribute to future office and team growth.

Responsibilities

• Lead as technical leader on municipal infrastructure projects.
• Mentor developing staff and grow the Illinois office footprint.
• Drive future expansion opportunities within the Illinois market.
• Oversee municipal utility, roadway, drainage, and site development projects.
• Maintain strong client relationships and manage project scopes, timelines, and budgets.
