Job summary

Modjeski and Masters in Edwardsville, IL is seeking a Senior Highway Design Engineer with 10+ years of experience to lead the planning, design and delivery of transportation infrastructure projects for public agencies. The role requires a PE license in Illinois or Missouri (or reciprocity), strong leadership, and proficiency with MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer and AutoCAD Civil 3D.

Full-time with hybrid work options.

Qualifications

• BSCE from ABET-accredited program with emphasis in highway/transportation engineering.
• PE license in IL or MO or ability to obtain reciprocity in a reasonable timeframe.
• SE preferred.
• Experience leading design and delivery of transportation projects for public agencies.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, design, and delivery of highway projects for state, municipal, and local agencies.
• Manage scopes, schedules, budgets, and technical deliverables with a focus on quality.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and design staff.
• Direct the preparation of plans, specifications, engineering reports, and cost estimates.
• Oversee roadway geometrics, drainage, pavement design, intersections, ADA, signing, markings, TMPs.
• Coordinate with subconsultants for survey, geotechnical, traffic, and environmental services.
• Serve as primary contact for clients and stakeholders.
• Contribute to pursuits with proposals, statements of qualifications, scopes of work, and fee estimates.
