Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Municipal Engineer to provide in-house engineering support for municipal infrastructure, stormwater, and capital improvement planning. The role involves design, bid documentation, and site visits, with direct interaction with residents, contractors, and agency officials.

The candidate will contribute to ongoing public works projects from preliminary design through construction. The ideal candidate has 5–6 years of municipal experience, a BS in Civil Engineering, and PE

Qualifications

BS in Civil Engineering is required.
5–6 years of municipal engineering experience.
PE licensure or ability to obtain within 1 year.
Experience in public works and village engineering functions.
Strong background in stormwater, drainage, and backyard drainage programs.
Proficiency with CAD and engineering software.
Strong documentation skills using MS Office, Bluebeam, and PowerPoint.
Excellent technical writing and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Prepare detailed plans, specs, and bid documents for municipal infrastructure projects.
Oversee Backyard Drainage Program and related investigations.
Provide site visits, design through construction support, and project coordination.
Interact with residents and contractors to address inquiries and impacts.
Coordinate with agencies and manage permits through project lifecycles.
Develop memorandums and technical documents communicating findings and recommendations.
Assist with Capital Improvement Program budgeting and funding documentation.
Review plans and bid packages for accuracy and compliance.
