Job summary

CITY OF EVANS in Evans, Colorado, seeks a Civil Engineer III/IV to join the Engineering Department. Under the Engineering Director, you will deliver design, review, and construction inspection for water, wastewater, stormwater, and transportation projects.

The role includes leading and supporting CIP development, coordinating with developers and the public, ensuring code compliance, and producing plans and specifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil, environmental, or related field.
• Experience in design, construction, and oversight of public infrastructure.
• Valid Colorado Driver’s License or ability to obtain within six months of hire.
• Engineer in Training (EIT) certification preferred.
• Licensed Colorado Professional Engineer (PE) or ability to transfer licensure within six months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Lead and/or support planning, design, construction, and maintenance of City infrastructure related to stormwater, transportation, water distribution, wastewater collection, and treatment.
• Review site plans, construction plans, drainage and traffic reports for code compliance.
• Coordinate with developers, contractors, and the public on permit applications and processes.
• Participate in design coordination meetings to support development and timely project completion.
• Manage capital improvement projects and development of CIP plans.
