Job summary

Technatomy Corporation seeks a Senior MUMPS Software Engineer to enhance and maintain VistA components for VA-related environments. You will own changes end-to-end, from analysis to release validation, collaborating with the Principal MUMPS Architect on design decisions and dependencies.

The role covers MUMPS routines, FileMan data structures, List Manager workflows, and XML data exchange, with emphasis on code quality, testing, and documentation. U.S. citizenship or Green Card required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of MUMPS development for production applications.
• VistA development experience with routines, FileMan data, and workflows.
• Strong MUMPS programming, debugging, and error handling capabilities.
• FileMan data dictionaries, subfiles, cross-references, and APIs knowledge.
• Experience enhancing List Manager screens and related routines.
• Experience XML parsing, generation, and data mappings in existing apps.
• Ability to evaluate changes, review code, and document design decisions.
• Familiarity with source control and defect tracking systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, debug, and maintain MUMPS enhancements in VistA.
• Lead investigation of defects; trace calls and dependencies.
• Implement FileMan changes with data dictionaries and indexes.
• Enhance List Manager displays and workflows; resolve issues.
• Handle XML parsing, mappings, and data exchange within framework.
• Define and run unit tests; support integration and release validation.
• Review code, explain tradeoffs, and provide technical guidance.
• Prepare documentation for changes, impact analyses, and release notes.
