Qualifications

• 3 years of payroll experience in a consulting firm, payroll provider, or in-house payroll function.
• Bachelor's degree preferred; experience may substitute.
• Strong understanding of payroll processes, multistate regulations, and compliance.
• Experience with payroll tax forms and filings (e.g., 941, 941-X, W-2C).
• Familiarity with major payroll systems: ADP, Workday, SAP, Oracle/PeopleSoft, Paycom, Paycor.
• CPP certification strongly preferred or in progress.

Responsibilities

• Support payroll consulting engagements across a range of clients, industries, and geographies.
• Assess and improve client payroll processes, controls, and procedures.
• Perform multistate payroll compliance reviews (federal, state, local).
• Support payroll tax activities and preparation of forms (941, 941-X, W-2C).
• Assist with payroll setup and configuration (earnings, deductions, tax treatments).
• Analyze payroll data to identify discrepancies, risks, and opportunities.
• Review employee classifications, wage treatments, and overtime calculations.
• Collaborate with internal teams and clients to deliver timely, accurate work.
• Communicate payroll concepts clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Contribute to project deliverables and ensure alignment with expectations.
