Job summary

Red Carrot seeks a Senior Multimedia Director to lead federal multimedia and public affairs projects, with creative authority over concepts, storyboards, and production across video, digital, social, and print. This on-site role is based in San Diego, CA and involves shipboard and field environments.

You will direct pre-production, cinematography, audio capture, and post-production in Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects, ensuring brand integrity and audience engagement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or four years of equivalent experience with a portfolio
• Active Secret security clearance
• Portfolio showing direction, cinematography, lighting, audio, and post-production
• Proficiency in Premiere Pro and After Effects
• In-depth knowledge of H.264 and ProRes codecs for web/broadcast
• Ability to operate camera, lighting and audio equipment in maritime environments
• Willingness to travel within the U.S. and overseas (CONUS/OCONUS)

Responsibilities

• Exercise independent artistic judgment over concept, pacing, tone, and visual narrative
• Translate maritime concepts and leadership messaging into campaigns for digital, print and video
• Design and direct short- and long-form assets, maintaining brand and message consistency
• Create platform-specific products with mobile-first editing techniques
• Lead pre-production: concepts, storyboards, briefs, shot lists, logistics
• Apply cinematography and lighting to achieve emotional impact
• Direct and capture broadcast-quality audio with professional gear
• Lead post-production in Premiere Pro and After Effects with motion graphics and color work
• Maintain digital asset management with organized metadata and archiving
