Job description

Multimedia Artist & Video Editor - Mudtek

This is a freelance/contract position.

Company Description

Mudtek specializes in creating immersive multiplayer experiences that bring people together. Our mission is to develop games that foster community, strategy, and social interaction. Our first title, Dimraeth, is a top-down 2D multiplayer RPG featuring a rich, handcrafted world, launched into Early Access last month. We believe in crafting worlds where players can collaborate, compete, and create lasting memories through cooperative exploration, competitive strategy, and emergent gameplay.

Role Description

Mudtek is seeking a Multimedia Artist & Video Editor to own how Dimraeth is presented to the world across YouTube, social media, and our marketing channels. Your focus will span two areas: editing video, from major game trailers to a recurring series of race and class reveal videos, and creating the static marketing and brand materials that define Dimraeth's visual identity. This is a remote freelance/contract position open to applicants worldwide. We're a growing indie team, and for the right person who becomes an integral part of how we present Dimraeth, there's potential for this to grow into a full-time role.

On the video side, our race and class reveals will follow a format similar to what you'd see from League of Legends or Ravenswatch: an art reveal that sells the fantasy of the character, followed by a design reveal with gameplay footage walking through their skills and abilities. We expect this to become a repeatable template of roughly 90 seconds, so we're looking for someone who can help build that format and then execute it consistently and efficiently with each new release. You'll also edit patch note and design-focused videos, and cut long-form content into short-form clips for Shorts, TikTok, and Reels.

On the design side, you'll create promotional graphics, social media posts, key art layouts, and other marketing materials, and help develop and maintain Dimraeth's brand identity, including logos, color palettes, typography, and brand assets, so everything we put out looks and feels unmistakably like Dimraeth.

We're looking for someone who understands that great marketing is about rhythm and identity: cutting to music, building anticipation, landing the big moment, and making every post instantly recognizable. If you get excited about a perfectly timed beat drop, have strong opinions about pacing and typography, and want to shape the public face of an indie title from the ground up, this is for you.

Responsibilities
Video
  • Edit game trailers for announcements, milestones, and launches
  • Develop and execute a repeatable ~90-second template for race and class reveal trailers, combining an art reveal with gameplay footage showcasing skills and abilities
  • Edit patch note and design discussion videos, keeping them clear, well-paced, and engaging
  • Cut long-form content into short-form clips for YouTube Shorts, TikTok, and Instagram Reels, reformatted for vertical viewing
  • Create motion graphics, titles, text callouts, and ability name cards that fit Dimraeth's visual identity
  • Select and edit music and sound design to support pacing and impact
Graphics & Branding
  • Create graphics, promotional materials, social media assets, and other visual content that reflect Dimraeth's identity, themes, and creative direction
  • Develop and maintain Dimraeth's visual identity, including logos, color palettes, typography, and brand assets, ensuring consistency across all platforms
  • Design YouTube thumbnails, store page assets, and announcement graphics
  • Establish and document brand and video style guidelines and templates so Dimraeth's presentation stays consistent as the game grows
Collaboration
  • Partner closely with the art and design teams to capture gameplay footage and gather assets for each piece of content
Qualifications
  • Proven experience editing game trailers (please include a reel/portfolio with trailer work specifically)
  • A portfolio of graphic design and marketing work, such as social media assets, promotional graphics, or brand identity
  • Deep proficiency in Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or a similar professional editing tool
  • Strong motion graphics skills in After Effects or similar
  • Strong proficiency in Photoshop and Illustrator, Figma, or similar design tools
  • Solid grasp of design fundamentals: layout, typography, color, and visual hierarchy
  • Excellent sense of pacing, rhythm, and editing to music
  • Experience editing gameplay footage and making it read clearly and exciting on screen
  • Ability to work from templates and deliver consistent results on a recurring schedule
  • Experience creating short-form vertical content for YouTube Shorts, TikTok, or Reels
  • Comfortable working in a small remote indie team where you'll wear multiple hats
  • Passion for games, especial
