Job summary

Paycom is seeking a Maintenance II technician to uphold the physical integrity of our residential community in Chicago. You will perform advanced maintenance across plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry, while guiding junior staff.

You will complete work orders, perform preventive maintenance, coordinate with vendors, and ensure safety policies are followed. The role combines hands-on repair with leadership support in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in residential or multifamily maintenance.
• Experience troubleshooting and performing repairs on building systems preferred.
• Pool certification for properties with pools; trade certifications in HVAC, plumbing, or electrical are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Complete assigned work orders involving plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC, and appliance repairs.
• Troubleshoot and resolve maintenance issues; escalate complex repairs as needed.
• Ensure make-ready repairs are completed on schedule and to standard.
• Provide feedback on recurring problems and suggest long-term solutions or procedural improvements.
• Maintain accurate records for all completed work orders and inspections.
• Participate in preventive and deferred maintenance; assist with coordinating contracted vendors.
