Join Parachute, LLC in Austin, TX is hiring a Senior Payroll & Benefits Specialist to own end-to-end payroll operations for 1,000–2,000+ employees across multiple locations. The role covers payroll processing, tax compliance, benefits administration, and related accounting tasks.

The Senior Payroll & Benefits Specialist will serve as the benefits primary contact with employees, coordinate with brokers on claims trends, and ensure accurate journal entries and reconciliations with the accounting

Qualifications

• 5+ years payroll experience in multi-state/multi-location environments.
• Experience with 750+ employee population.
• Strong knowledge of federal/state payroll tax and wage & hour compliance.
• Hands-on experience with 401(k) administration and benefits reconciliation.
• Working knowledge of payroll accounting: journal entries, GL reconciliation, accruals.
• Experience serving as a benefits point of contact for employees, including plan education and open enrollment.

Responsibilities

• Payroll Processing: multi-state, multi-location payroll for exempt/non-exempt employees, hourly and salaried pay structures, overtime, and multiple pay frequencies.
• Tax & Compliance: manage payroll tax filings/remittances across jurisdictions and respond to notices.
• Benefits & 401(k) Administration: administer benefits enrollment, deductions, 401(k) funding, and broker coordination.
• Accounting & Reconciliation: prepare/post payroll and benefits journal entries and reconcile GL accounts.
