Job summary

Brown & Root Industrial Services is seeking an experienced welder capable of certifying on multi-process pipe welding, including SMAW, GTAW, and GMAW. The role involves laying out, aligning, and welding fabricated components such as machinery frames, tanks, and pressure vessels per blueprints and metallurgical specs.

Responsibilities include selecting materials, planning layouts, applying various welding techniques, inspecting welds, and ensuring safety rules are followed.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in SMAW, GTAW and GMAW welding.
• Ability to read blueprints and metallurgy.
• Experience in laying out, aligning and welding components in various positions.

Responsibilities

• Selects type and size of pipe or materials per specifications.
• Plans layouts, assembly, and welding using knowledge of geometry and welding techniques.
• May use multiple welding processes as required by procedures.
• Lays out, positions, aligns and fits components to form assemblies.
• Welds and bolts metal components for piping systems, tanks, vessels, and structures.
• Connects welding equipment and adjusts amperage, voltage, and pulse as specified.
• Inspects welds for bead size and quality.
• Loads and transports materials and tools as needed.
• Observes safety and project rules and performs other duties as required.
