Job summary

MWResource, Inc. is seeking a seasoned Database Administrator for a 12‑month hybrid contract.

The role covers advanced administration across SQL Server, Oracle, and PostgreSQL with emphasis on Oracle GoldenGate replication, OEM monitoring, and disaster recovery in a regulated environment. Responsibilities include troubleshooting outages, managing backups, patching, and schema changes, while coordinating with development and compliance teams to meet RPO/RTO targets.

Qualifications

• Five to eight years of database administration in multi‑platform environments (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL).
• Experience with regulated environments (NERC CIP or SOC) preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot database outages, performance issues, replication failures, and backup exceptions across SQL Server, Oracle, and PostgreSQL.
• Administer Oracle GoldenGate replication, monitor lag, and support switchover to ensure data availability.
• Support high-availability and disaster-recovery configurations (Data Guard, Always On, PostgreSQL streaming) and validate failovers.
• Monitor and tune databases using OEM, AWR/ASH, SSMS, and other tools to prevent performance issues.
• Execute backup and recovery using Rubrik and native tools; meet RPO/RTO targets.
• Coordinate patching and upgrades via ServiceNow change control; assess risk and validate post-change.
• Coordinate schema changes with developers for index optimization and deployment sequencing.
• Support access reviews and compliance evidence for NERC CIP and SOC.
• Develop automation using Python, shell, PowerShell, PL/SQL, and T-SQL; IaC with Terraform and Git.
