Job summary

Veriipro is seeking an experienced Oracle GoldenGate Consultant to join our enterprise IT team in the greater Richmond area. You will design and implement GoldenGate replication, manage Extract/Pump/Replicat processes, and support zero-downtime migrations across RAC, Data Guard, Exadata, and cloud platforms.

Responsibilities

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Oracle GoldenGate Consultant with strong expertise in Oracle database administration, GoldenGate replication, high availability, disaster recovery, performance tuning, and database migrations. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting large-scale enterprise Oracle environments, including RAC, Data Guard, ASM, Exadata, and cloud platforms.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain Oracle Database 12c, 19c, and 21c environments.
• Design, implement, and support Oracle GoldenGate replication solutions.
• Manage Extract, Pump, and Replicat processes across heterogeneous environments.
• Support unidirectional, bidirectional, Active-Active, and Active-Passive replication.
• Monitor and troubleshoot replication latency, synchronization, and data consistency issues.
• Support zero-downtime database migrations and cutover activities.
• Manage Oracle RAC, ASM, Data Guard, Exadata, OEM, and RMAN.
• Perform database performance tuning, health monitoring, patching, and upgrades.
• Develop and maintain backup, recovery, high availability, and disaster recovery strategies.
• Execute Data Guard switchovers, failovers, and DR exercises.
• Troubleshoot complex database and replication incidents and perform root cause analysis.
• Support database migrations across Oracle, DB2, Exadata, cloud, and hybrid environments.
• Develop migration runbooks, cutover plans, and rollback strategies.
• Automate database operations using Ansible and shell scripting.
• Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and database teams on technical and operational initiatives.

Required Qualifications

• Strong experience as an Oracle DBA / GoldenGate Consultant.
• Hands-on expertise with Oracle GoldenGate and GoldenGate Microservices Architecture.
• Strong knowledge of Oracle RAC, Data Guard, ASM, Exadata, OEM, and RMAN.
• Experience with database replication, migration, synchronization, and troubleshooting.
• Strong SQL and Oracle performance tuning skills.
• Experience with Linux/Unix administration and shell scripting.
• Knowledge of OCI; GCP experience is a plus.
• Understanding of networking concepts related to database replication.
• Experience with automation tools such as Ansible.
• Familiarity with ITSM, DevOps, and CI/CD practices.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, communication, and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Oracle-to-Oracle and DB2-to-Oracle migrations.
• Experience supporting JDE environments.
• Knowledge of Control-M and enterprise batch processing.
• Experience supporting cloud-hosted Oracle workloads.
• ServiceNow or similar ITSM experience.
