Job summary

Virginia Linen Service, Inc. seeks an Industrial Maintenance Technician to repair, maintain, troubleshoot and install equipment in a highly automated laundry facility. You will work with boilers, air compressors, PLCs and hydraulic/pneumatic systems to support daily operations.

You should have a strong mechanical background, read maintenance literature in English, and be ready for a flexible schedule. The role includes safety and preventive maintenance responsibilities in a family-owned regional

Qualifications

• Able to read and understand maintenance literature printed in English.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Strong mechanical background.
• Flexible schedule required.
• Able to lift/push/pull up to 50 pounds.
• Basic computer skills.
• Experience with safety programs (Lock Out/Tag Out, OSHA) preferred.
• Minimum 2 years maintenance experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance programs.
• Communicate with management and engineering teams.
• Maintain safety and cleanliness standards.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
• Use precision measuring and testing instruments.
• Assist other maintenance personnel with repairs.
• Inspect motors/belts, fluids, filters and perform maintenance actions.
• Perform welding: MIG, TIG, ARC.
• Troubleshoot/repair PLCs and control systems.
• Perform boiler chemical testing.
• Daily/weekly boiler safety checks and repairs.
• Test wastewater pretreatment system.
• Lubricate shafts, bearings, gears.
