Job summary

Aris Search is recruiting for a Senior Project Engineer for an established MSP, focusing on hands-on infrastructure projects from discovery through implementation, with remote, work-from-home arrangement.

You will lead client engagements, design and implement Windows Server, AD, Microsoft 365, Azure, Hyper-V/ VMware, networks, and security, and coordinate others while delivering high-quality, documented solutions; travel to Southern California required occasionally.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on IT infrastructure experience in an MSP or IT consulting environment.
• Strong Windows Server administration and engineering experience.
• Strong Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS and DHCP experience.
• Experience building and migrating Windows Server and Active Directory environments.
• Strong Microsoft 365 administration and migration experience.
• Strong networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, switching and VPNs.
• Experience configuring and deploying business-class firewalls.
• Experience with Hyper-V and/or VMware ESXi.
• Experience designing, scoping and implementing infrastructure projects for SMB clients.
• Ability to independently evaluate an existing client environment and determine an appropriate technical solution.
• Ability to estimate technical requirements, identify dependencies and develop an organized implementation approach.
• Strong troubleshooting ability across server, cloud and network environments.
• Ability to communicate technical recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical clients.
• Strong documentation, organization and time-management skills.
• Ability to work independently without constant supervision.

Responsibilities

• Lead IT infrastructure projects from discovery through completion.
• Meet with clients to understand requirements and current infra.
• Assess environments and develop technical solutions.
• Scope project requirements including equipment and licenses.
• Translate scopes into organized implementation plans.
• Personally perform hands-on project engineering and implementation.
• Build, configure, migrate and upgrade Windows Server environments.
• Deploy and migrate Active Directory, DNS, DHCP.
• Design and implement Microsoft 365 and Azure solutions.
• Deploy and manage Hyper-V and VMware environments.
• Configure firewalls, routers, switches, VPNs.
• Perform network and infrastructure refresh projects.
• Lead migrations and other client projects.
• Develop migration, cutover, testing and rollback plans.
• Coordinate vendors and internal resources.
• Troubleshoot problems during implementation.
• Validate work through testing and QA.
• Maintain technical documentation and diagrams.
• Deliver environments to support teams with handoff.
• Manage multiple projects across environments.
