Job summary

AbbVie in the United States seeks a field-based MSL/Senior MSL I (Immunology) to strategically support research and business objectives across a designated geography. You will be the primary communicator of AbbVie science to healthcare professionals and build professional relationships to deliver medical and scientific support.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree required (i.e., Pharm D, MD/DO, PhD, APP in a relevant scientific discipline). Doctorate strongly preferred.
• Senior MSL I: Minimum 2 years of relevant experience; typically 3 years of direct MSL experience
• MSL: Minimum of 0-2 years of relevant experience
• Ability to reside in the assigned territory – Seattle or Portland preferred
• Must be willing to travel up to 75% of the time.
• Must be able to identify, analyze, and translate specific territory and corporate needs to support internal and external customers and achieve business and clinical objectives.
• Proficiency in Excel, Word, Power Point, and other software skills; Excellent written/verbal communication skills;
• Strong interpersonal skills, presentation, and teaching skills; Ability to work independently and in a team structure; Ability to adjust effectively to work within new structures, processes, requirements, or cultures; Strong planning and organizational skills; team and leadership skills
• An essential requirement of HCIR credentialing to enter facilities; background checks, drug screens, and immunization proof may be required
• Ability to learn and convey clinical and non-clinical technical information effectively

Responsibilities

• Identify, develop, and maintain professional relationships with thought leaders, academic centers, and researchers in assigned areas to access current medical and scientific information
• Present scientific information and education relative to disease state, therapeutic landscape, and AbbVie products to healthcare professionals
• Support research initiatives including site evaluation, recruitment, investigator meetings, and external collaboration management
• Prepare marketplace in new therapeutic areas of interest, creating awareness and relationships in the Medical community
• Create, maintain, and collaborate with internal cross-functional partnerships to support shared business objectives
• Serve as a medical/scientific resource to healthcare providers by answering unsolicited medical questions
• Support and provide ongoing training to medical affairs, field sales and other internal personnel
• Practice core capabilities in strategic segmentation and optimal resource utilization
• Maintain compliance with Corporate and Divisional Policies and ensure timely documentation of HCP interactions
• Meet health care industry credentialing requirements to enter facilities and organizations
