Job summary

AbbVie is seeking a Senior Medical Science Liaison I to serve as a field-based scientific expert across a designated therapeutic area and geography. You will build peer-level relationships with healthcare professionals, translate complex scientific data, and collaborate with AbbVie's R&D and Medical Affairs teams throughout the product lifecycle.

You will travel up to 75% of the time to support investigators, sites, and external experts, delivering credible medical information and advancing

Qualifications

• Advanced degree required (Pharm D, MD/DO, PhD, APP in a relevant scientific discipline). Doctorate preferred.
• Typically requires a minimum of 2+ years relevant experience.
• Must be able to identify, analyze, and translate territory and corporate needs to support objectives.
• Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint; excellent written/verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Identify and maintain professional relationships with thought leaders and researchers to ensure access to current medical information.
• Present scientific information about disease state, therapeutic landscape, and AbbVie products to healthcare professionals.
• Support research initiatives and investigator meetings, site evaluation, recruitment, and external collaboration management.
• Prepare market awareness in new therapeutic areas and build AbbVie relationships in the medical community.
• Collaborate with internal cross-functional teams and commercial partners to meet business objectives.
• Provide medical/scientific information to healthcare providers and address unsolicited questions.
• Support ongoing training for medical affairs, field sales, and internal personnel.
• Demonstrate strategic segmentation and efficient resource use.
