Job summary

IWCO Direct is seeking a Purchasing Agent to source and obtain competitive pricing for direct material paper products and related services, ensuring timely delivery and quality.

You will manage supplier relationships, negotiate terms, monitor inventories, perform spend analysis, and collaborate with A/P to resolve pricing and payment issues, while maintaining compliant records and contributing to cost savings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business administration or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment.
• 3-5 years' experience with progressively increasing responsibilities in MRO purchasing in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Analyze sourcing constraints and opportunities, including cost savings, risks, and mitigations.
• Maintain JIT stock purchasing without risk of outages and address issues before production impact.
• Manage procurement relationships, serve as primary contact for suppliers and internal partners.
• Negotiate with suppliers on key service and supply activities as needed.
• Maintain accurate transaction records in Megamation, Monarch, Verticent, and PSI systems.
• Provide back-up support for other Purchasing Agents.
• Conduct spend analysis to identify over-purchases and cost-saving opportunities.
• Collaborate with A/P to resolve pricing or payment processing issues.
• Research alternative products or suppliers as needed.
• Establish professional relationships with suppliers and respond to commodity inquiries.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
