Job summary

61st Street Service Corporation is seeking a Senior MRI Technologist to support ColumbiaDoctors across multiple sites in New York. The role combines hands-on MRI work with leadership and mentorship of technologists, focusing on quality assurance and patient care.

The candidate will perform MRI procedures, ensure image quality, and assist with onboarding while maintaining safety and compliance. Requires NYS license, ARRT, MRI Registry, BLS, and 5+ years of MRI experience.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalency.
• Minimum 5 years of MRI experience.
• NYS License, ARRT certified, MRI Registry certified.
• New York BLS certified.
• Demonstrated leadership in a team environment with training/knowledge-sharing.
• Participation in continuous improvement or quality initiatives.
• Excellent communication and deescalation skills.
• Detail-oriented, punctual, and able to work independently.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with EHR, Excel, Word, and email systems.
• Ability to cover multiple sites and weekends.
• Experience training and onboarding preferred.
• State license to inject contrast preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet and interact with patients, visitors, vendors, and faculty and staff.
• Perform MRI and general radiological procedures with radiologist oversight.
• Position patient and ensure best-case imaging.
• Observe patient status and coordinate with primary care givers for instruction.
• Explain procedures to patients and answer questions.
• Administer contrast media via IV as directed.
• Operate and maintain MRI equipment and QA logs.
• Assist with onboarding and training of technologists.
• Support manager to ensure coverage across practices.
• Participate in quality improvement and safety initiatives.
• Assist with Quality Control and Assurance measures.
• Promote safety culture and incident reporting.
• Other duties as assigned.
