Job summary

UNC Health Nash is seeking an experienced MRI Technologist to perform diagnostic MRI scans under radiologist guidance, ensuring film quality, patient safety, and staff education. You will participate in department operations and uphold QA standards.

The role requires 5+ years MRI experience, ARRT MRI certification, and a strong familiarity with RIS, PACS, and departmental protocols. This is an on-site, full-time position with evenings at Nash Hospitals.

Qualifications

• 5 or more years of MRI experience.
• Current ARRT MRI certification with up-to-date CE credits.
• Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• Registered with ARRT and ongoing continuing education.
• Familiarity with departmental protocols and patient safety.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates knowledge of General Diagnostic Radiology and maintains RT(MR) credentials or training.
• Ensures correct patient data, images reach PACS, and RIS documentation is complete.
• Performs quality radiographic images and analyzes orders with appropriate action plans.
• Uses RIS/CIS/PACS/SMS to access data and document status of procedures.
• Verifies patient identity, safety, and readiness; responds to emergencies as needed.
