Job summary

UNC Health Nash is seeking an MRI Technologist to perform diagnostic MRI scans under the direction of a Radiologist, ensuring film quality, patient care, safety, and staff education. The role requires maintaining imaging quality and coordinating with the radiology team.

Qualified candidates will have ARRT MRI certification and 1 year of MRI experience; graduates with relevant training are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited school or program of Radiologic Technology.
Current ARRT registration with up-to-date continuing education credits.
Advanced registration in MRI with ARRT.
1 year of MRI experience.

Responsibilities

Demonstrates knowledge of General Diagnostic Radiology; adheres to departmental protocols and policies; maintains RT(MR) credentials and active status.
Verifies patient demographics, exam requests, and transmits QA-ed images to PACS; documents procedures in RIS.
Performs imaging in a timely manner; analyzes requests; ensures accuracy of patient information; maintains a safe work environment; reports incidents.
Uses RIS, CIS, PACS, and SMS to access information and document status; completes exams in RIS; QC's and transmits data to PACS.
Verifies patient identity and history; assesses pregnancy status before ionizing radiation; develops action plans; requests additional personnel or equipment as needed; ensures patient safety.
