Job summary

VulcanForms Inc. seeks a Senior Manufacturing Quality Engineer to lead technical quality on active production lines for high-consequence metal components in consumer technology programs.

You will partner with Manufacturing, Operations, and Customer Quality to drive yield optimization, establish SPC frameworks, govern PFMEAs, and lead 8D investigations to prevent quality escapes during high-volume ramps.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive Quality Engineering experience in consumer technology or high-volume hardware manufacturing.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Quality Engineering, or related technical field (equivalent hands-on experience considered).
• Deep command of high-volume quality tools (8D, SPC/Cpk analysis, GD&T, PFMEA, Control Plans, MSA/Gauge R&R, and AQL sampling).
• Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 / ISO 13485 quality systems and change management.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary technical quality authority for assigned consumer electronics lines; analyze line yield data, Pareto trends, and Cpk metrics to drive variation reduction.
• Lead cross-functional root-cause investigations for defects; enforce robust CAPA across production.
• Own and maintain production quality documentation including PFMEA, QCP, and SPC monitoring for CTQ features.
• Partner with customer quality teams on inquiries, FAIR approvals, and line qualification audits; ensure ECO execution without output disruption.
• Evaluate incoming raw material quality metrics and coordinate with supplier quality to resolve material-induced defect modes.
• Lead daily quality standups with manufacturing engineers, line leads, and floor technicians to promote defect prevention.
