Job summary

Caturus Energy is seeking a highly skilled Senior Drilling Engineer with MPD expertise to plan and execute complex well designs in HP/HT environments. You will drive drilling performance, optimize safety, and collaborate with geologists, reservoir engineers, and operations personnel to deliver high-quality programs.

Experience in Haynesville, Austin Chalk, or Eagle Ford is a plus, and you will mentor field teams, support budgeting, and lead real-time drilling optimization efforts across the rig

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years of drilling engineering experience with focus on MPD.
• Proven track record with HTHP operations and well control challenges.

Responsibilities

• Design, plan, and execute MPD-focused drilling programs for wellbore stability and pressure control.
• Apply HTHP best practices to mitigate risks and ensure well integrity.
• Evaluate offset well data to improve drilling efficiency and reduce NPT.
• Collaborate with geologists and reservoir engineers to optimize trajectories and target intervals.
• Provide real-time technical support to rig-site teams for MPD and conventional operations.
• Lead drilling optimization strategies, including ROP, bit selection, and fluid optimization.
• Mentor field teams in MPD/HTHP methods and contribute to SOP development.
