Veeco Instruments Inc. seeks a Senior Electrical & Controls Engineer in US NJ Somerset to own electrical architectures translating complex process requirements into production-ready equipment for leading semiconductor manufacturers.

You will work across PCB design, embedded electronics, and Beckhoff PLC architectures to ensure precision control and high uptime. The role focuses on motion-control systems, mixed-signal designs, and automation, driving reliability and manufacturability in advanced

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Electrical Engineering with 8+ years of relevant experience (or Master’s with 6+).
• Experience in closed-loop motion-control with servo motors and sensors.
• Experience in multi-layer PCBs, mixed-signal circuitry and power distribution.

Responsibilities

• Own electrical and controls architectures delivering nanometer-scale positioning.
• Lead design decisions across motion control, sensing, embedded electronics, and automation.
• Own custom PCB architectures translating requirements into manufacturable hardware.
• Drive PCB development from architecture to production release with reliability and EMI considerations.
• Lead industrial automation architectures using Beckhoff TwinCAT, TwinSAFE, EtherCAT and related control technologies.
• Resolve complex system-level challenges through modeling, diagnostics, experimentation, and data-driven analysis.
• Balance performance, scalability, manufacturability, reliability, and total cost of ownership when selecting tech and suppliers.
