Job summary

Aeva Inc. in Mountain View, CA, is seeking a Senior Embedded Controls Engineer to join the Scanning Systems team.

You will design and implement controllers for actuators, develop control architectures, and test embedded firmware in C, Matlab, and Python. The role requires hands-on debugging, cross-functional collaboration with electrical and mechanical engineers, and a drive to optimize motion control performance.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience developing controls for motion control applications.
• Strong fundamentals in control design - PID, frequency domain, state space.
• Experience implementing real-time, production-level firmware in C.
• Ability to prototype controller designs and analyze data in Matlab and Python.

Responsibilities

• Developing, testing and analyzing control architectures and improvements.
• Implementing controller changes in C.
• Root-causing control performance issues with embedded, electrical and mechanical engineers.
• Testing and qualifying changes by coordinating with the reliability and test team.
