Job summary

maxon USA is seeking a Sr. Electrical Engineer to lead development of customer-specific electronics for advanced servo drive systems.

You will design, simulate, and layout electronics for brushed and brushless motors, develop embedded software in C on microcontrollers, and drive system integration from concept through production readiness. The role requires hands-on circuit design, PCB work, and collaboration with global R&D teams to ensure architecture alignment and knowledge transfer.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics or equivalent from an accredited university.
~5–10 years of experience in related roles.
5+ years CAD experience (Creo preferred).
Practical experience in analog and digital circuit design, preferably in power electronics and drive technology.
Experience with electric motors, gears, sensors, and controllers in regulated environments.

Responsibilities

Design and develop electronics for motion control solutions from concept to production readiness.
Create rapid prototypes and take ownership through commissioning and testing.
Commission and tune drive systems to support hardware bring-up and integration.
Verify prototypes and pre-production samples against standards and customer requirements.
Perform low-level embedded software development in C on microcontrollers.
Coordinate with maxon’s global R&D hubs to align architectures and designs.
