Job summary

Trust Automation is seeking an electrical design engineer in California to lead motion control and power conversion projects on-site. You will manage full product life cycles from concept through sustainment, collaborating with engineering to improve drive and motor efficiencies.

The role requires a BS in Electrical Engineering and 5–8 years of related experience, with hands-on PCB design, simulation, and experience with motor drive electronics.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering required.
• Digital and analog circuit design experience.
• Experience with power electronics design.
• Schematic capture and PCB layout experience (Altium).
• Self-motivated with minimal oversight and strong problem-solving.
• Typically 5–8 years engineering experience.
• Experience with electric motors and drive electronics.
• Familiarity with MATLAB/SIMULINK and SPI/I2C/USB/EtherCAT protocols.

Responsibilities

• Electrical/electronic design and development for Trust Automation products and customer applications.
• Development of advanced motion control and power generation/conversion systems.
• Design verification through analysis and testing.
• Integration and test of motion control systems, electrical systems and motors.
• Collaborate with the engineering team to advance drive/motor efficiencies.
• Lead and direct other engineering teammates as needed.
• Participate in design reviews and development processes.
• Contribute to project success by meeting design requirements on schedule and within budget.
• Assist Program Managers and Trust VPs with project planning, including specification of system application solutions, task prioritization, and risk mitigation.
• Assist with customer interaction and perform product/system demonstrations as needed.
