Job summary

Copeland seeks a Lead Motor Control Engineer – Power Electronics to advance embedded firmware for variable speed drive products. You will work with hardware teams to design, test and certify motor control firmware, while supporting product life cycle and customer needs.

The role requires a BS in Electrical/Computer Engineering and 7–10 years in embedded motor control with sensor-less methods, PFC algorithms and robust communication protocols.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical or Computer Engineering or related field.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test and maintain embedded motor control firmware for variable speed drives.
• Assist in creating product specs, architecture, DFMEA and safety certifications for firmware and hardware.
• Design and test electrical equipment to characterize motors and user interface software.
• Coordinate design reviews, qualification plans and reliability testing for embedded power electronics.
• Create firmware test procedures and ensure compliance with standards.
• Support customers with software and hardware changes and root cause analysis.
• Collaborate with global teams on next generation motor control products.
