Job summary

Jobgether SRL, on behalf of a partner company, seeks an Underwriter III based in the United States to handle a broad portfolio of residential loan applications. You will evaluate income, assets, credit, and appraisals to ensure compliance with investor standards and regulatory requirements.

You will work with Loan Officers and Processors to resolve documentation gaps, make risk-based decisions, and guide complex cases toward closing with accuracy and customer focus.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of recent mortgage underwriting experience (conventional, FHA, VA, Bond Program, jumbo, or similar).
• DE certification required, with regional endorsements (Direct, VA, Auto, SAR as applicable).
• Expert knowledge of residential mortgage lending processes, underwriting, and documentation.
• Strong regulatory knowledge, risk management, and fraud awareness.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, metrics-driven environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with strong judgment and discretion.

Responsibilities

• Review loan documentation for accuracy, compliance, and adherence to requirements.
• Underwrite conventional, FHA, VA, USDA, New Construction, condominium, jumbo, and related programs.
• Analyze income, assets, tax returns, credit reports, and appraisals to determine borrower eligibility.
• Approve or deny loans based on underwriting standards and risk factors.
• Collaborate with Loan Processors and Loan Officers to obtain missing documents.
• Provide guidance on suitable loan programs and financing options.
• Mentor junior staff and serve as a subject matter expert for complex cases.
