Job summary

Middletown Valley Bank in Middletown, MD is seeking a Senior Loan Processor to manage complex mortgage files and ensure compliance with investor and regulatory requirements. This role acts as a subject matter expert for the processing team and mentors peers.

The position supports a hybrid or fully remote schedule after a two-week in-office training period, with residency within commuting distance for training and meetings. Strong leadership and regulatory knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; associate degree in business or related field preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive mortgage processing experience including complex loans.
• Expertise in conventional, FHA, VA, USDA, jumbo, construction, and specialty mortgage products.

Responsibilities

• Independently manages a pipeline of high-complexity loans, including jumbo, construction, and specialty programs.
• Acts as the primary liaison between processing, underwriting, and closing teams for escalated or time-sensitive files.
• Conducts advanced compliance reviews and resolves issues prior to underwriting submission.
• Identifies systemic processing risks, recommends corrective actions, and partners with leadership to implement process improvements.
• Provides ongoing coaching, training, and technical guidance to processors, helping develop department expertise.
