Job summary

Clearwater Credit Union in Missoula, MT is seeking a Vice President of Mortgage Processing & Underwriting to lead the end-to-end mortgage operations and directly underwrite residential loans.

This senior leader will coach the processing team, ensure accurate packaging, regulatory compliance, and timely loan movement, while collaborating with Real Estate Lending Officers and Mortgage Servicing to achieve annual goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, accounting, economics, or related field preferred.
• 5–10 years of mortgage processing and underwriting experience.
• Strong leadership, communication, and regulatory compliance skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead Mortgage Processing team and coach staff for accountability and growth.
• Oversee daily operations, staffing, scheduling, and productivity.
• Maintain loan files, documents, and complete underwriting packages.
• Exercise decision-making on home lending product processing.
• Coordinate with Real Estate Lending Officers and Processors to resolve issues.
• Ensure regulatory compliance across underwriting and processing areas.
• Prepare and review closing documents and disburse loans.
• Stay updated on lending products and regulatory changes.
