Job summary

MaxCyte seeks a Senior Molecular Technologist to join our Laboratory Operations team in Waltham, MA. You will perform novel NGS-based assays to assess on- and off-target edits for cell and gene therapy applications, providing hands-on leadership and technical troubleshooting.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in a regulated molecular lab, experience with automated NGS workflows, and strong documentation skills. On-site, full-time role with opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in clinical laboratory science, medical technology, molecular biology, or related field.
• 5+ years of relevant molecular lab experience in regulated environments (GLP/GMP/ISO).
• Experience with automated NGS workflows and laboratory documentation.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex molecular workflows and drive process improvements.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex molecular biology and NGS workflows: sample prep, nucleic acid processing, PCR, library prep, QC, sequencing.
• Operate and maintain automated platforms and sequencing instruments; ensure quality and turnaround times.
• Lead or troubleshoot assay failures, equipment issues, and automation errors.
• Support validation, technology transfer, and documentation; assist with SOPs and training.
• Manage multiple concurrent workflows with accuracy and documentation quality.
