Job summary

Booz Allen Hamilton in Houston is seeking a Molecular Dynamics and Aerospace Engineer to tackle contamination challenges of spacecraft and assets. You will model interactions between dust, the space environment, and surfaces using MD/DEM techniques and develop particle-scale physics models.

You will architect computational frameworks, guide strategy, and mentor junior staff while applying MD/DEM tools such as LAMMPS, GROMACS, or NAMD.

Qualifications

• Six years or more of MD/DEM modeling experience.
• Experience developing MD/DEM frameworks and software.
• Ability to develop and maintain analytical and computational models.
• Programming experience in Python or C++.
• Experience with MD/DEM tools (LAMMPS, GROMACS, NAMD, Ansys Rocky).
• Ability to write technical documentation or publications.
• Capable of working in teams or independently; ownership of tasks.
• Ability to obtain a Secret clearance.
• Master's degree in a relevant scientific or engineering field.

Responsibilities

• Model particle-scale physics to resolve contact mechanics, cohesion, and fragmentation.
• Develop MD/DEM simulation frameworks for regolith and contaminant populations.
• Architect computational approaches, guide strategy, and mentor junior staff.
• Collaborate with government clients on research and development efforts.
