Qualifications

• PhD or Master’s in Molecular Biology, Genetics, Biochemistry, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years hands-on molecular biology research experience.
• Extensive experience with NGS library prep kits and Illumina platforms.
• Proficiency in bioinformatics for alignment, variant calling, and visualization.
• Strong fundamentals in genetics and genomics.
• Excellent problem-solving and written/verbal English communication.
• Experience with CRISPR is a plus.

About the Role

Our client, a pioneering biotechnology firm, is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Molecular Biologist to join their cutting-edge Genomics Research division. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in designing, executing, and analyzing complex molecular biology experiments, with a focus on next-generation sequencing (NGS) technologies. You will be instrumental in pushing the boundaries of genetic research and developing novel diagnostic and therapeutic strategies. Key Responsibilities

• Design and conduct experiments related to DNA/RNA isolation, library preparation for NGS, PCR, qPCR, and other molecular assays.
• Analyze and interpret large-scale genomic datasets, identifying patterns, and drawing meaningful conclusions.
• Develop and optimize new molecular biology protocols and workflows to improve efficiency and accuracy.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including bioinformaticians, geneticists, and clinicians, to achieve research objectives.
• Maintain detailed laboratory records, document experimental procedures, and prepare reports and presentations.
• Troubleshoot experimental issues and provide solutions to ensure project continuity.
• Stay abreast of the latest scientific literature and technological advancements in genomics and molecular biology.
• Mentor junior researchers and assist in their training and development.

Requirements

• PhD or Master's degree in Molecular Biology, Genetics, Biochemistry, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in a molecular biology research setting, preferably in an industrial or academic genomics lab.
• Extensive experience with various NGS library preparation kits and platforms (e.g., Illumina).
• Proficiency in bioinformatics tools and software for sequence alignment, variant calling, and data visualization is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of molecular biology principles, genetics, and genomics.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail.
• Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced research environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Experience with CRISPR technology or gene editing is a plus.
